First Planning Meeting for Expo 2027 Belgrade Held with Participation of Iranian Delegates


The first international planning meeting for Expo 2027 Belgrade was held in the Serbian capital with the participation of Sodeif Beikzadeh, CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Company, and Mohammad-Mehdi Tondgouyan, Chairman of the Board of the company, as representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with delegates from over 140 countries worldwide.

This two-day meeting, organized under the auspices of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), focuses on discussing and reviewing the content and programming plans for Expo 2027.

Recognized as the largest diplomatic gathering in Serbia’s history, this event represents a significant step toward coordinating and preparing participating countries for Expo 2027.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Beikzadeh and Tondgouyan met with Mehdi Abadi, acting head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade. During the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure Iran’s strong and effective presence at Expo 2027 and to leverage the country’s cultural, economic, and technological capacities at this global event.

The specialized international Expo 2027 Belgrade, held under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” will take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027. So far, 112 countries and international organizations, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, have officially confirmed their participation.
