Ahead of the participation of Iranian companies in the Havana International Trade Fair, Sodeyf Beykzadeh, Managing Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Company, met today with Jorge Fernando Lefebre Nicolás, Cuba’s Ambassador to Tehran.
The two sides stressed the need to expand bilateral trade relations and to facilitate the participation of companies and economic actors in exhibitions held in both countries.
The Cuban Ambassador highlighted Cuba’s capacities, Iran’s production potential—particularly in the food, petrochemical, and medical sectors—and underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation despite international sanctions.
Mr. Beykzadeh called for raising the current level of trade exchanges and emphasized the role of specialized exhibitions in developing economic and commercial ties. He also underlined the importance of support measures to reduce participation costs and the promotion of barter opportunities and institutional cooperation, such as chambers of commerce.
The Cuban Ambassador expressed readiness to connect Iranian companies with Cuban partners and announced efforts to facilitate their presence in Havana.
The 41st Havana International Trade Fair will take place from November 24–29, 2024, with Iran’s participation and support from the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Company.
